Jackson Workbench : Batch Conversion : Graphical Interface

The graphical Batch Converter can be run as a stand-alone tool, or may be used in its integrated form from within the Keywood Workbench. In either case it looks something like this :-

The tool allows batches to be quickly and easily produced and then configurable conversions to be applied to those batches. Each batch can then be saved away for later reuse. The display is comprised of four areas :-

• Menu bar (stand-alone version only) - at the top providing alternate menu access to the buttons in the other areas
• Batch List - to the left displaying the list of files in the current batch (and after conversion the conversion status for each file)
• Control Panel - to the right configuring the batch conversion process and providing progress information
• Conversion Output - at the bottom showing the message output for each conversion as it is performed

Files can be converted from any of the following formats (license permitting) :-

• PDF
• JSP Tool
• JSP-Cobol
• LST

Files can be converted to any of the following (again license permitting) :-

• Structured Text
• JSP-Cobol
• Standard Programming Language (e.g. COBOL)

The converted output can be compared with an existing file either textually or lexically. It may then optionally sent to a third-party compiler, the results of which are shown in the conversion output window.
